OPATHY ESR Marina Pekmezovic at the Department of Microbial Pathogenicity Mechanisms at Hans-Knöll Institute Jena, Germany, coordinated the production of the video "Candida infections: a disbalance in the interaction with the human host and ist microbiota", which was submitted in the Dance Your PhD Competition, organized and sponsored by AAAS and Science journal. In a joint initiative, OPATHY ESRs designed a new network poster, which summarizes in an illustrative way the project's overall research areas, the main aims, as well as an overview of the locations of all 13 ESRs. The poster was presented to the whole consortium for the first time during the third annual meeting/ summer school in Valencia.

During the HFP2017 conference in La-Colle-Sur-Loupe, France, OPATHY scientific advisory board member Judith Berman (Tel Aviv University) was interviewed by OPATHY ESR Elise Iracane (University College Dublin).

OPATHY organizes the first "ITN Science Slam" with four other ITNs being coordinated in Barcelona. The Science Slam will take place on the 3rd of March at 21:00 in the bar "mau mau".

OPATHY is a an European training network aimed to developing new diagnostic tools to study and manage human yeast infections.
